Terms of Use

1. Who We Are

WO Security Shield ("we", "us", or "our") provides a cloud-based WordPress security monitoring platform, including a SaaS dashboard, a WordPress plugin, malware scanning, file integrity checking, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@wosecurity.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Plans and Fees

WO Security Shield is offered on a subscription basis. Current pricing, plan features, and billing intervals are described on our pricing page. All fees are stated in US dollars and are exclusive of applicable taxes.

4.2 Free Trial

We offer a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period your account will transition to a free read-only state unless you add a payment method and select a paid plan.

4.3 Payment

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you select. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

4.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for unused time on monthly plans. Annual plans may be eligible for a pro-rata refund within 30 days of purchase — contact support to request one.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Connect WordPress sites that you do not own or do not have explicit authorisation to monitor.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service or plugin.
• Resell, sublicense, or offer the Service as a white-label product without a written reseller agreement with us.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Use the Service to store, transmit, or facilitate the distribution of malware, spam, or any harmful content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without notice.

6. Plugin and Software License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the WO Security Shield WordPress plugin solely to connect your authorised WordPress sites to the Service. The plugin is proprietary software — not open source — and may not be redistributed, modified, or used outside the Service without our written consent.

7. Data You Provide

The Service processes data from your WordPress sites, including file hashes, scan findings, event logs, traffic data, and plugin/theme metadata ("Site Data"). You retain ownership of all Site Data. By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to process Site Data solely to provide, maintain, and improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service — including the dashboard, plugin, documentation, trademarks, and all related intellectual property — are owned exclusively by WO Security Shield. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited licence described in Section 6.

9. Uptime and Service Availability

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. Scheduled maintenance, unforeseen outages, or events outside our control may cause temporary unavailability. We will endeavour to communicate planned downtime in advance.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will detect all malware, prevent all security breaches, or be free of errors.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WO Security Shield and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) US $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WO Security Shield and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination you lose access to the Service and all associated data may be deleted after a grace period. You may request an export of your Site Data before account closure by contacting support.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the dashboard at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
